Study Group: Quiz Night
The CAAWA Study Group will hold a pictorial pottery quiz
at the meeting on September 15th, 7 for 7.30, at the ECU pottery studio.
Surprises and prizes and lots of laughs.
Come and test your knowledge, or make inspired guesses, about pots from many countries and periods of history - people pots, animal pots, bird pots, pots in art and pots with unexpected uses. Special prizes for the wittiest answers. Get together a table of four, and prepare to be amused - and informed. (It is after all a study group.)
RSVP if possible to or 9384 8505, so that we have an idea of numbers, but if you forget, just turn up all the same and we shall fit you in. Basic refreshments of tea/coffee and biscuits as usual, but feel free to supplement them with something more festive for your table. There will be a slightly larger fee of $5.00 per person, to cover the cost of the prizes.
See you there!
For those who are unfamiliar with the ECU layout, the best approach is from Central Avenue, Mount Lawley, into a large maze-like carpark with unusually abrupt speed humps. Soon after you enter there is a large roundabout. Bear left here, and go along, keeping a lookout on the right for a way through that is not a dead end. A useful landmark is a distinctive building with a curved facade, decorated with painted letters and illuminated at night. The pottery studio is just to the left of it, through a wooden gate opening onto a courtyard.
